Ablation that goes where thermal energy cannot
Aliya PEF delivers high-voltage, short-duration electrical energy that disrupts the transmembrane potential of the cell, triggering non-thermal, regulated cell death. The result: a predictable ablation zone with a safety profile suited to cases where conventional thermal ablation carries unacceptable risk.
Three properties that address the cases where thermal ablation falls short
Not every soft tissue ablation candidate is a straightforward case. Aliya PEF was designed around three interconnected properties, each targeting a distinct clinical barrier that limits what thermal ablation can safely accomplish.
1. Safety & Predictability
Expands clinical use cases with low procedural risk
Predictable ablation zone. Low procedural risk burden. Feasibility near sensitive structures including descending aorta, pulmonary vasculature, and left atrium.
2. Immunogenic Potential
Mechanism that may activate an immune response
Regulated cell death mechanism. Durable ablation. Early exploratory data suggests biomarkers associated with immune system upregulation.
3. Clinical Flexibility
Compatible with existing workflows, tools, and SOC
Can be performed at time of biopsy. Compatible with treatment sequencing. Endoscopic and percutaneous options available.
A safety profile built for cases where the margin for error is narrow
When a patient’s anatomy limits what thermal ablation can safely approach, Aliya PEF offers a non-thermal alternative. Its safety profile supports use near sensitive structures where heat-based modalities carry elevated risk.
Minimized procedural invasiveness
19G percutaneous · 21G endoscopic
Among the smallest needle gauges available for ablation. Designed to minimize tissue disruption at the access site.
Predictable, consistent ablation zone
No heat sink. No thermal spread.
Proprietary biphasic waveform delivered through a single monopolar electrode creates a consistent, uniform electric field distribution without cavitation or thermal coagulation.
No heat sink or unintended thermal damage
Extracellular matrix preserved.
Non-thermal mechanism of action. Not susceptible to heat sink effects. Supports ablation near airways, vessels, and other sensitive anatomy.
Favorable safety near sensitive structures
Clinical procedures have been performed adjacent to the descending thoracic aorta, left atrium, pulmonary vasculature, and diaphragm with a favorable safety profile.*

Designed to integrate into the way you already work
Aliya PEF is compatible with existing workflows, tools, and standard of care treatment sequencing. It can be performed at the time of biopsy in a single anesthetic event, and does not preclude subsequent therapies.
Concomitant with diagnostic biopsy
Biopsy and Aliya PEF ablation in the same anesthetic setting are feasible. Bilateral lesions can be addressed in a single procedure.*
No disruption to standard of care
Across INCITE-ES (N=36), AFFINITY (N=30), ACG Recalcitrant (N=155), PEF+SBRT (N=5), and VIGOR (N=5) — no delays or disruptions to SOC therapy following Aliya PEF.*

Peer-reviewed data across multiple organ systems and approaches
Published, peer-reviewed data demonstrates the safety, feasibility, and exploratory efficacy of Aliya PEF ablation across indications including lung, liver, prostate, and soft tissue sarcoma. The evidence base spans endoscopic and percutaneous approaches, with multi-center contributions from sites across the United States.
Published data includes multi-center clinical experience, prospective registry data (PROPEL), preclinical immune activation studies, and case series across multiple organ systems. A preclinical study comparing Aliya PEF to radiofrequency ablation received the SIR 2025 Outstanding Laboratory Investigation Award.
